Lorenzo Moya
"I live surrounded by landscape, not only the countryside, for me everything is a landscape ... I see the mountain range every day and obviously influences my painting as the main actor. Most of the places I paint exist, and I've been there at some point, and painting in that same place is a very intense experience, a kind of direct connection. ”
Lorenzo Moya, was born in Paine, Chile in 1967. He studied human figure painting at the Institute of Contemporary Art in 1984. He entered the Architecture career at the Catholic University of Chile in 1985, and between 1986 and 1990 studied a Bachelor of Art , with mention in painting, at the University of Chile.
Lorenzo Moya's painting refers from the human figure to landscapes, preferably marine, following a naive and surreal figurative style. Creator of enigmatic and playful worlds, in his images appear boats suspended in calm horizons, austere and lonely characters in the midst of nature that evoke nostalgia, precariousness and fear in the face of a latent but undefined threat.
