Gonzalo Patricio Cienfuegos Browne was born on October 7, 1949 in Santiago, Chile.
He began his artistic training in 1964 as a free student in the evening courses of the School of Fine Arts of the University of Chile. Then, in 1967, he formally entered that institution to study Fine Arts, simultaneously, he began studies in advertising and marketing at the Institute of Advertising and Sales (IPEVE). The following year, he joined the Faculty of Architecture at the same university as a student, abandoning his previous careers. In 1970 he traveled to Mexico to perfect himself in painting and drawing at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving "La Esmeralda". After almost four years of stay in the Mexican capital, he moved to live in Buenos Aires, Argentina and in 1975, he returned to Santiago. There he enrolled at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts.
