Bororo
Artist belonging to Chilean neo-expressionism. Identified with the generation of 1980, he was born in Santiago de Chile on November 10, 1953.
In 1972 he entered the Art School of the University of Chile, where he graduated. In 1981 he worked as a tenured professor at the same school.
Bororo belongs to the so-called Advanced Scene or Generation of the 80s along with Samy Benmayor, Omar Gatica, Matías Pinto D’Aguiar, Ismael Frigerio, among others. They have been characterized by their intention to recover the painting, the gesture and the playful character of art, lost in previous years.
His work is characterized by being gestural, with intuitive strokes, expressive blasting and direct staining, without restrictions. The power of color and elemental drawing, from a very simple, almost childish graphic, make up a universe that moves between the abstract and the figurative. There the artist's intensity and passion leads to a subjectivity that shapes different dimensions and perspectives on the canvas.
