Mario Alfonso Sánchez Rodríguez, painter. He was born in Los Angeles, Chile, on November 25, 1963.
He studied a degree in the Art Department of the Universidad de Concepción, Chile. He was a founding member of the Grisalla Group.
Sánchez was the one who devised and led the mystique of the first group of provincial painters who managed to settle in the halls of the National Museum of Fine Arts. All trained under the wing of the School of Plastic Arts of the University of Concepción, position southern Chile as an inexhaustible source of visual artists who crossed national and regional borders.
