"José Duarte's work has elements that rescue pre-Hispanic cultures, such as symbols and abstractions that are so transversal to all cultures. Although his work embodies his realism, there are also strong abstract and informal art accents. Undoubtedly, its references start from matta in the contextual sense, it is perhaps a continuum of Mattian thought without ignoring the conjuncture, especially the ecological and environmental sense. His work uses languages ranging from graphics, painting, assemblies, collage and sculpture, thus being a visual artist. "
Born in Santiago de Chile 1968, studied at the Experimental School of Arts, Bachelor of Arts from Universidad de Chile, Bachelor of Education, Universidad Los Lagos. Since 1988 he has exhibited individually and collectively. He has participated in surrealist art collectives, Spill, Sleepwalker, Pictorial Animal. Currently in "Wild Eye" and "Black Swan".
