"I have painted as a hobbyist without pretensions and intermittently since I left the School of Arts and I have exhibited in collectives within Chile. Since 2014 I dedicate myself to painting professionally and definitively.
My work is always based on a narration, a kind of preconceived script that gives a guideline to a story. The intention is always to tell a story in a space where small doses of humor, eroticism, visual games of figure and background, parallel dimensions and impossible situations always coexist within a framework of exercise in the traditional medium. My models are a script, a poem, a story, a dream that later adds the necessary characters to tell the story. Objects, human figure and landscape are intertwined in an apparently surreal atmosphere but always looking for a plausibility with nature, therefore this surrealism could be "apparent" and relative within a naturalistic and figurative framework. The influence and experience gained in my years as director of advertising art and graphic design make the appointment of elements of pop art, the saturation of the media and their effects on the lives of the characters that inhabit my stories inevitable. Manufacturing is highly influenced by German Expressionist masters but I also recognize a natural tendency to care for the figure without disfiguring it so as not to complicate the story. Finally what I am looking for is that the work is apparently very intellectual in its origin but very simple in its exhibition. "
